How to Barter for Goods and Services through BBU

By joining BBU, members agree to accept an additional form of currency as payment: BBU dollars, with a cash equivalent of $1 USD.

When a BBU member sells their goods or services to another member, they accumulate BBU dollars that are banked in a private account with BBU. When a member purchases goods or services from another BBU member, they spend this balance, thereby getting the things they need without paying cash. In other words, no two members need have what each other is looking to purchase to make a deal. Rather, each can spend their BBU dollars with any member, at any time.

With BBU, you will:

N

Remain in control of the amount of business you accept and how you spend your earnings.

N
Generate the funds you need to grow your business—AND increase your spending power—without increasing your cash debt.
N
Receive invaluable word-of-mouth marketing from your fellow BBU members.

How does barter through BBU actually work?

BBU members will want to buy from you because they can pay for your goods or services with BBU dollars and keep their cash for more important things, such as capital improvements. When you spend your BBU dollars, you do so in place of cash, thereby eliminating a cash expense.

As an example, let’s say that a local restaurant joins BBU. A BBU account manager markets the restaurant to the BBU community and over the course of a year, by providing meals to members who pay in BBU dollars, they earn $10,000. The restaurant then uses these funds to pay a printing company in the BBU network to design and print up beautiful new menus.

This menu order helps the print shop keep its staff busy and since the restaurant owner shares with colleagues their positive experience with the printer, it also brings in new business. The print shop, in the meantime, uses the $10,000 in BBU dollars they just earned to purchase $5,000 in advertising in the local newspaper, $1,000 for much needed office furniture, and $4,000 in accounting and legal services… all purchased from other BBU members. It’s that simple!
